Outpatient

First line

  • Phenoxymethylpenicillin (penicillin V) · p.o.

    500 mg PO bid–tid (or 1 megaunit bid per local form)

  • Amoxicillin · p.o.

    500 mg PO bid or 1 g once daily

Alternatives

  • Cephalexin · p.o.

    500 mg PO bid

  • Clindamycin / azithromycin · p.o.

    Clindamycin 300 mg tid; or azithromycin course

Duration

10 days (azithromycin shorter per product)
